The sort of foundation described here, where a complete level platform is created would be a good way to build a foundation for a plastic storage shed or any storage shed where the shed floor is of relatively light weight construction. building a shed base begins with the setting out. A pad created out of concrete pavers provides a stable surface with drainage that can fully support the weight of a wood or metal shed without sagging. building the cement paver pad is a simple matter of digging out the area, pouring out gravel and sand for a subsurface and laying out the pavers..
I either will have to put down a concrete paver base, or a wooden floor system like a deck. i am opting for the paver base as it seems a bit simpler and then i can bolt the shed down to the pavers. i am planning on using something like 400mm x 400mm x 40mm pavers. the area is 8m2 in size. i have a few questions hopefully someone can help:. The first step is to build the form for the pavers. my design for this was based on the amount of concrete an 80 pound bag of premix would make. it ended up being 22" square and the concrete came up to ~1 inch below the top of a 2x4. for my shed i needed nearly 30 pavers of this size.. To secure the shed, simply dyna-bolt the shed down to the pavers. pavers also prefer a gravel base, but can go straight on flat, level ground. putting a layer of gravel down first will stop the pavers from sinking over time..
