Really nice gun safe, finally finished! would be nice to show it to you guys with guns in it, but i doubt the homeowner would appropriate that.. So, my wife has asked me to build a gun room in the basement to keep all the 'stuff' contained. i can take up all the space i want and am planning a reloading/smithing (term used loosely) room, with a walk-in gun storage room.. The basement was mostly finished, except for the room where the water heater and furnace was located. this room is about 17�x 7? rectangle. to start out, they finished the walls, hung drywall, painted, and covered the cement floor in epoxy coating..

A cold room is a new term for a root cellar. cold rooms / root cellars are for keeping food supplies at a low temperature and steady humidity. they keep food from freezing during the winter and keep food cool during the summer months to prevent spoilage.. Since they are going to be adding a room anyway they figure about 4k for a large safe and 10k for the room. if they can spend a similar amount and make the whole room a safe then why not. it will hold a lot more stuff and it won't have to be all jammed in a safe. they want some fire protection but it is not critical..
