Goat Barn Winter

So we shut up all the goats in the barn and as soon as the next 3 nannies gave birth, we moved them and the kids into temporary stalls inside our shed so they could be by the wood stove. now that the kids are a week old, we moved them back to the barn. they are with the other goats and out of the wind.. Tips for keeping goats warm in the winter. i know it can be a real pain to carry water to the barn in winter, but it will keep your goats healthier and happier. exercise � even with snow on the pastures, your goats will enjoy the benefits of being able to get outside for a few hours every day. the exception, of course, is when it is. Maybe goats with angora coats or those bred for alpine conditions don't need winter protection. but in my barn, with our winds, temperatures that dip as low as 5�f, and our breed (nigerian dwarfs), my goats need winter protection! shivering goats is a surefire sign to me that goats are stressed..
